Monument (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Monument was established in 2003. in Banja Luka, called Arise. With the name change, there was a change of style, and the band from the original thrash death metal more and more tilted towards modern death metal versions. The band for seven years of existence has been confirmed as killer live metal machinery, they provide reasonably good audience in the region, and in particular should highlight performances with Vader and Behemoth in Croatia, as well as the Exit Festival 2009. year.
The only actual studio recording, where it was from the beginning of 2009. year, is the EPEvolved Self Projection, which is partly recorded at home in Banja Luka (with the exception of vowels, which are recorded in the BL study 4), mix, master and production was carried out by Marjorie Mijić in Chainroom study, Senta. EP has brought together all the aspirations of the band - brutal, melodic, death metal, modern and precise, technically demanding music.
The band is mostly stable since the beginning, and the only change occurred on the position of guitarist. Monument today consists of vocalist Ognjen Bogdanovic, guitarist Igor Dragelj and Dejan Savic, Ognjen Topic bassist and drummer George Stanivuković.

Biography:
Gorthaur's Wrath is one of the first uprising Croatian Black metal bands. Formed in 1998 by Morbid, who is also the only remaining founder of the original line up. The band started as primitive black metal, reflecting the times and origins of its beginings. It later evolved into an even more extreme form of death/black metal combined with anything that could serve the greater purpose. The band performed throughout their existance, mostly on their home teritory of Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and Bosnia (so far). The conqureing is yet to begin! Morbid joined forces with Andrea, a notorious Italian drummer who has been known from his past accomplishments, such as Cenotaph and Necrosphere; Moric, the main person behind all the songwriting; Meshi on rythm guitars and recently, Krvolok on bass. The process of mixing the new songs is nearing its end, so the ritual will finally begin. Ritual IV is the title of the upcoming album. The first songs can be heard on the band's official myspace page!

Amon Din (Serbia)

The story of AMON DIN began in the woodlands of northwestern Serbia where a
powerful musical creation is born out of a pure burning desire to play death
metal. In January the year of our Lord 1996 the band enters the studio for
the first time and record their first untitled demo recording. In a short
time their unique melodic Deathrash style is enriched with the addition of
keyboards, which subsequently leads to many innovations in their sound. Mid
1997 sees the birth of their second demo tape and a very first live
recording titled Live In Central Club, where a substantial musical maturing
could be felt. During that time AMON DIN gets the reputation of a very
active live band playing many live shows in front of the audiences all over
Serbia. In January of 1999, AMON DIN enters Casablanca studio in Belgrade,
where their very successful and critically acclaimed debut is conceived. The
recording process is put on hold in April of 1999 when the NATO pact attacks
the country causing the recording to be delayed until the November of 1999.
The Melodic Death Metal monster called Dinamoneyezed finally scars and maims fans and is unleashed upon the unsuspecting public in the very last few days
of the 20th century. Christophe Szpajdel who did logos for such names as
Emperor, Covenant, etc. designs a logo immediately after hearing the record
and the cogs are set motion. With the release of the DIY tape, AMON DIN
starts participating on metal compilations around the world. In the meantime
Dinamoneyezed becomes one of the best selling underground records in Serbian history. The band sells several thousand copies on their home turf alone,
achieving somewhat of a commercial success as well as securing a large base
of devoted fans. All the hard work and bleeding fingers over the past few
years seem to have started paying off in the early 2002 when the band plays
as a support act for a metal legend, original Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno.
Unfortunately shortly after, due to line up changes and military obligations
the band is forced to put their work on hold. Then in the early 2004 the
band records a song "When The Sky Is Bleeding" for Multimedia/Universal
Records compilation titled Forces Of Anger and receives an amazing response
from journalist and fans all over the world which encourages them to work
the hardest they have in their 10 year carrier. Multitude of very successful
live shows that follow finally allow AMON DIN to claim their well deserved
throne at the top of the underground music scene in the country, claiming
the title of "The Leading Death Metal act in Serbia." Immediately after,
they play several sensational shows, culminating in an impressive
performance at EXIT festival, playing right after the Gods of Thrash Metal
SLAYER. That night saw them sharing the stage with Death Metal's own Napalm Death, as well as Agnostic Front in front of over 5000 raging fans. They
close a great year with an excellent performance as a supporting act for
VITAL REMAINS, a legendary death metal act from USA. Year 2006 writes a new
page in their career. The time comes for Dinamoneyezed to be re-released in
CD format by Walk Records on the first day of 2006. The now re-mastered
Death Metal masterpiece receives great acclaim from journalists and fans
across the world, all the while the band continues writing the material for
their second release and doing what they do best - playing in front of live
audiences. The metal machine enters a studio with a steady line-up and while
making no compromises records their second full length album, the punishing
Death Metal work of art entitled "Where The Dreams No Longer Exist." The
album takes you on a journey through Serbian history, present and the past,
the physical and the metaphysical with their unique, fresh and original ear
piercing musical style. The band decides to go back to the basics excluding
the keyboards from the recording making the sounds even more personal and in
your face. They take a few days of from the recording process to play
alongside the Titans of Death Metal world Morbid Angel, making some very
important connections which will prove very valuable in the future. While
the album is being mastered in Florida USA by Morbid Angel's producer the
band embarks on the South Eastern leg of Poland's best metal act Vader
making their presence known outside the boundaries of Serbia at last. The
band is currently looking for a record label that will help them spread the
disease and reach the live audiences all over the world. They promise to
deliver the insanity branded with the utmost quality Death Metal in the
future and we can truly and easily believe them!!!

Time Treachery (Croatia)

Time Treachery is a five piece melodic/epic death metal band from Zadar,Croatia. It was formed in the spring of 2007 by a couple of very good friends: Marino Brnardić, Kristijan Bajlo and Bruno Vuksan-Ćusa. After some time of jamming they started working on their own material and tried to find two more members to complete the line-up. Andrija Javoran has joined as a guitar player, but a proper keyboardist has been very difficult to find. The first demo "Under Eternal Nightsky" was recorded in the summer of 2007.

Just before the release of the demo medical problems forced Andrija to quit playing guitar. He was thinking about leaving the band, but fortunately he accepted the band's suggestion to take up keyboards, because he attended musical school and knew musical theory very well. In a very short time the line-up was finally completed when Marin Kolanović joined the band as a new guitar player. From that point Time Treachery has started playing live shows.

For some time everything in the band worked pretty good, but as time passed things with Marin started to go downhill. The chemistry between him and the rest of the band simply did not work out, so he left Time Treachery. He was instantly replaced by Josip Ivković, who brought a lot of positive energy and new ideas into the band. After that, Time Treachery started to play live shows again, work on the new material and with full speed headed towards new experiences.

Slavogorje (bend) nije vise aktivan!! Slavogorje split up

Slavogorje (“Hill Of The Slavs”) was croatian band which combined pure black metal with neofolk and ambient music, strongly bound to nature and seasons, inspired by Slavonic history, tradition and belief. (2005-2009)
Sadly, we have to announce you that Slavogorje is no more.
No particular reason for that, it's just that we both are on our own ways now, and you may hopefully hear us again, somewhere else. But for Slavogorje, we have sent and spread our messages, the ones about care for our ancestral beliefs and traditions (in our case, Slavonic), but also for Nature - because it seems to be the only true connection with our past. And future. We have done our mission, and we enjoyed it a lot. Even our 'rise and fall' periods were pretty fun. ^^

Arkona (Russia)

The roots of Arkona are to be searched for in the beginning of 2002, when the members of local pagan community "Vyatichi" – Maria "Scream" Arhipova and Alexander "Warlock" Korolyov decided to form a band, according to their ideology and musical tastes.
Initially, the band was called "Hyperborea", it consisted of: Maria "Scream" Arhipova (vocal), Eugene Knyazev (guitar), Eugene Borzov (bass-guitar), Ilya Bogatyryov (guitar), Alexander "Warlock" Korolyov (drums), Olga Loginova (keyboard). In February 2002 the band was renamed into "Arkona". The musical materials of the band were pagan/folk metal based and the lyrics had an idea of ancient national beliefs and history of Slavonic Russia .
In the end of the year it was decided to record several songs as a demo-record. The process of recording took place in December 2002, at CDM-Records studio. The demo consisted of 3 tracks – "Kolyada", "Solntsevorot" and "Rus'"Now this record is included into live-play album "Zhizn' vo slavu" (2006) as bonus material.
Since the beginning of 2003 the band has started its concert activity. Many people heard them for the first time at "Yazycheskaya Rus'" fest, which was held 8th February 2003 at "Estakada" club. Other bands that took part there were Butterfly Temple , Pagan Reign, Svarga, Rossomahaar.
Until summer 2003 the band performed a few local concerts, and then the question of debut LP recording was raised.
Unfortunately, by that time, several band members had lost interest for the further musical creativity, and in September 2003 the band Arkona dissapears.
Maria decided to keep on solo and asks her Nargathrond project mates for help in recording an opening LP. She got all the orchestration written down and musicians obtained them for learning and training. By March 2004 the first LP "Vozrozhdenie" was recorded without even a single rehearsal.
Nowadays this LP is spread all over the world and has received its recognition. It is recognized as one of the most successful Slavonic pagan metal LP ever. Immediately after studio work, Maria dedicates herself to the creation of new songs, and by the end of summer 2004 the material for the second album "Lepta" was ready. It was recorded the following autumn with the same musicians.
The album was released in December 2004 and, though LP continues the same old themes from "Vozrozhdenie", it is done in more dark and gloomy style. In the recording of this LP (as in the recording of previous one) took part a poet and vocalist Les’yar ( Nevid', ex-Butterfly Temple ), not only as a performer, but also as lyrics writer (the song "Zarnitsy Nashei Svobody").
By the moment of LP release, Arkona revived as a band - it consisted of musicians, which took part in recording of two first LPs. They were: Sergey "Lazar" (guitar), Ruslan "Knyaz'" (bass-guitar), Vlad "Artist" (drums). Since the beginning of the year 2005 the band could be seen again performing live.
Irrepressible creativity of Maria doesn’t let her stop and by summer 2005 the band starts recording the third LP, the most complicated and varied album "Vo Slavu Velikim". The band decided to give up on using any synthesized instruments and used real ethnic instruments, so the list of musicians, that took part in this recording, considerably extended. One of the invited was a famous folk-musician Vladimir Cherepovskiy (Mervent, ex- Voinstvo Sidov, Veter Vody, Trio Mario) and members of bands Svarga and Alkonost.
The orchestration for the songs sometimes included over 100 record tracks, but the band overcame these difficulties and in September 2005 the LP gone gold. During its presentation the live performance was recorded and was released as a DVD and also included into live LP "Zhizn’ vo Slavu".
In May 2007 Arkona started recording the 4th album 'Ot Serdca K Nebu' ('From Heart to the Skies'), where the previously started theme of the rebirth of culture and native Slavic religion found its continuation.
As for the music of this album, it represents the mix of modern metal styles: from brutal death metal ('Shrouds of Celestial Sage') and raw black metal ('Over the Abyss of Ages') up to beautiful ballad rock ('Oh, My Sorrow, My Anguish') and lofty epic metal ('Long live Rus!', 'Kolo Rolls'), and also somber doom ('The Arrow').
All the variety is saturated with the atmosphere, characteristic for all works by Arkona, and plenty of Slavic folk... As it was on the previous record, all parts of ethnic wind instruments were composed by a very special musician, a specialist in ancient music, Vladimir Cherepovsky (gaita, gallega, small pipe, hurdy-gurdy, tin whistle, low whistle, sopilka, pipes, pan flute, ocarina, zafun).
Also the vocalists of the Byelorussian folk choir 'Gostitsa' took part in recording.
The design of the album cover was developed by the famous Belgian artist Kris Verwimp...
The March of 2008 was a turning point for the band. Arkona performed as one of the headliners at the biggest European pagan metal fest called Ragnarok Festival V. The performance was eagerly supported by more than 5000 pagan metal fans from every part of the world.
When they got home, there was a nice surprise waiting for them: a proposition to sign a contract with one of the biggest European labels Napalm Records, concerning the release of the album 'Ot Serdca K Nebu' and future works of the band.
After Napalm Records released it, the band went on a 30-day tour in Europe, which ended with the performance at the great festival called BRUTAL ASSAULT.
Back at home the band decided not to go on a long hiatus and in October 2008 started working on their 5th album 'Goi, Rode, Goi.'
The level maintained on the album 'Ot Serdca K Nebu' was very high, but the band aimed to make a very unique album, something that had never been done before by them.
In the breaks during recording the band managed to release and present the second DVD "Noch Velesova" in May 2009 at Napalm Records, and also Arkona performed at the German festival 'Winternoise.'
The work on the album was finished only in June 2009, and we can say now that it was the most laborious and time-taking recording, where more than 40 musicians participated.
For the first time the band used a full-fledged chorus and a string quintet, and the special pearl of this album is the 15-minute saga 'Na Moey Zemle' which is about the adventures of a Slav in European countries, with the participation of the musicians from such bands as Manegarm, Obtest, Skyforger, Menhir and Heidevolk.
The parts of ethnical instruments on this album are performed partly by Vladimir Cherepovsky and partly by Vladimir 'Volk', who has become a full-blown member of Arkona recently.
The album cover design was done by Kris Verwimp, known to many. He carried out enormous work drawing a series of conceptual illustrations for each song of this album.
